james is an american artist and writer living in garden city, idaho and zogno, italy. born in 1981 and raised in colorado, he spent his youth exploring the rocky mountains and putting wax on every curb he could find. years of travel and galavanting around the pacific northwest landed him in garden city, idaho. he found his life partner in italy and spends half of the year with them while navigating the difficulties of international love and immigration. he builds and creates for both a living and love, not particularly in that order. focused for many years on creation over exhibition, he has accumulated a large body of diverse work of paintings, sculpture and poetry. his work has been showcased in numerous galleries and exhibitions, though his last solo show was in 2010. his writings can be found in death rattle literary’s oroboro #8 and the ekphrasis journal, as well as paper plane press volume #1. he enjoys working with other artists and has been a part of numerous collaborations including art/music presentations with the playgound ensemble for performances of arnold schoenberg’s pierrot lunaire and death rattle literary’s writers showcase at the 2024 treefort music festival.
